1908

In 1908, the success story of the Hamm traditional company started when the 18 year old farmer’s son Fritz Jaspert from Welver was gripped by the adventure bug and in the same year worked on a ship to finance his passage to America.
It was there that he saw his first ice-cream wafer which was rolled around a wooden cone and baked. In 1904, a patent had been filed for this procedure by a New Yorker named Italo Marchioni. This ice-cream wafer made a lasting impression.
